Festival Watch

Spring is among us, which means the summer festival lineups are slowly being announced. My dream job is to get paid to cover all the festivals: rent a VW Hippie Van and drive around to all the festivals in North America with a small film crew. Very Departures meets Almost Famous.  Does any such job exist? Either way it is definitely on my bucket list to take a summer off and go to as many as I physically could manage. I know this is a highly unrealistic fantasy, but one can only dream. Here are some of my favourite lineups that have been announced thus far:

Sasquatch! Music Festival takes place at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George Washington. I have been wanting to go to Sasquatch for over four years now. Living on the opposite coast of Canada made it too difficult to manage. However, year after year it has always been my favourite lineup. The fact that it uses a natural amphitheatre is pretty rad too.

Firefly Music Festival takes place at The Woodlands of Dover International Speedway, Dover, Delaware. I have been following its lineup since it started in 2012. This year’s lineup is incredible. Seeing Paul McCartney headline Bonnaroo two years ago was the best moment of my entire life. I am excited for all the Firefly festival-goers who will get to experience the wonder of Paul this summer.

Squamish Valley Music Festival started in 2010 and has rapidly grown every since. This year’s lineup is already stacked with awesome artists with more to add. I’m loving the expansion of Canadian festivals.

I’m looking forward to hear what other acts are touring this summer as more lineups are announced.
