Girls who Rock

Nothing like starting the year off with some girl power. My two favourite albums from 2015 so far come from some old and new badass ladies.

Sleater-Kinney’s “No Cities to Love” is the punk trio’s latest album. The band formed in ’96 and released seven albums before breaking up in 2006.  As prominent figures inspired by the Riot Grrrl movement, I am stoked to see them back in action with an awesome new album.

Elle King is relatively new on the music scene. “Love Stuff” is her debut album, which encompasses a country, rock and blues style. With a killer raw voice, I can see a long future for King. Side note: she is Rob Schneider’s daughter. So cool.
